We were blown away. This region is breathtaking: we crossed 3 states (Nevada, Utah, Arizona) and 3 time zones and were amazed every minute.
Zion-Bryce-Moab (08/09 to 08/11)
We started with the oldest park, Zion National Park, with its immense red sandstone cliffs and breathtaking hikes. Then we went to Bryce Canyon: it was surreal, with its hoodoos rising against a clear sky. Next, Canyonlands, a veritable labyrinth of canyons and mesas, immersed us in the wild immensity of the desert. Capitol Reef, with its colorful rock formations, allowed us to discover a less-visited but equally fascinating corner. Finally, Dead Horse Point offered spectacular panoramic views of the Colorado River.
Moab-Monument Valley-Page-Horseshoe Bend (08/11 to 08/14)
Then we traveled to Moab, a picturesque town surrounded by spectacular scenery. We explored Arches National Park, famous for its iconic rock formations. Next, we made a detour to Goosenecks, where the meandering Colorado River offers a stunning view. Monument Valley, with its famous red buttes, transported us to the world of Westerns. We then visited the turquoise waters of Lake Powell before discovering the sublime curves of Antelope Canyon. We wondered how such a place could have been created. Finally, Horseshoe Bend offered us a majestic panorama of one of the most beautiful bends in the Colorado River.
Page-Grand Canyon-Las Vegas (08/14 to 08/19)
We stayed three nights in Page, and one evening we had dinner at a renowned Texas BBQ restaurant, "Big John's Texas BBQ." The children, and we ourselves, thoroughly enjoyed the simplicity and friendly atmosphere of this place. On the way to the Grand Canyon, we were lucky enough to admire majestic buffalo roaming freely near Glendale. Then, we arrived at the Grand Canyon, a must-see, where the breathtaking panoramas left us speechless. To conclude this adventure, we drove to Las Vegas, the city of excess, for one last memorable evening under its glittering lights.
