Mafe

Mafè (or mafé ) is a traditional West African dish, particularly popular in Senegal, Guinea, Mali and Gambia . It is a stew made from meat (usually chicken, beef or lamb), fish or vegetables, cooked in a thick sauce made from peanut paste. This sauce is often garnished with tomatoes, onions, spices like chili, and sometimes vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes or cassava.

Mafé is usually served with white rice or couscous. It is naturally gluten-free, provided that the ingredients used (including peanut paste and spices) are free of any gluten-containing additions.
