Toffee Apples are a must-have Guy Fawkes Night treat. Crispy and sweet, they are perfect for warming up cool fall evenings. They look like candy apples but without coloring: the crunchy caramel coating will delight young and old.

  1. Wash and dry the apples well. Poke them with wooden sticks so you can hold them easily.
  2. In a saucepan, mix the sugar, vinegar, water and syrup. Heat over medium heat until the mixture reaches 150°C (check with a sugar thermometer).
  3. Once ready, dip each apple into the caramel, turning to coat.
  4. Place the apples on parchment paper, add crushed walnuts to half of the apples and let the caramel harden before eating.
