What's better than a barbecue to bring everyone together around a good meal? On the beach, with the sound of the waves in the background, our Japanese friend had prepared a feast of skewers for us. Everyone found something they were looking for, and the friendly atmosphere made these meals highlights of the weekend.
A campfire under the stars
On Saturday evening we lit a campfire on the beach. The crackling flames, the starry sky and the laughter of the children roasting marshmallows gave a magical touch to the evening. We shared stories and enjoyed the gentle lake breeze. These are simple moments, almost timeless, but which left us with extraordinary memories.
Kayak adventures and forest walks
Sunday, time for activities! We started by cleaning the kayaks, which the mice had taken possession of, then went for a walk. Gliding on the calm water, surrounded by beautiful scenery, was a calming experience. In Chicago, the lake is also pleasant, but it remains surrounded by buildings and above all by lifeguards every 100 meters in their boats who monitor our every movement!
In the afternoon we swapped the paddles for walking shoes and explored the nearby forest trails. Pentwater offers unspoiled nature, perfect for recharging your batteries. The children collected leaves and sticks to make souvenirs, while we enjoyed the calm of the forest.
